Good idea..then we can all contribute so that we can perfect the image..Matrix i think you can be a big help for the t-shirts ..maby you can come up with some ideas, it would be great :)

Toni is already working on a design or two as is Baghira's friend so we'll let those come up. I just wanted to give ppl an idea of what there is already out there and associated costs, as you can see coming up with our own designs usually makes more sense, but is quite a workload for the designer as these things take alot of time.

Wowowowowowow

It seems that more people are getting involved. I love the designs posted by skip, and I beleive that those would be perfect for a back of shirt, I love funny images. What i would like to add is that if something similar is made between us, it would be free, and maybe more matching to our activities.

And by the way, I have been away for some time now and I am happy in  reading this thread and seeing that spnotta is also contributing. I should therefore read another post to see what has happened, but I beleive I made my part in pushing him to join us more, in participation.
I also found his advice, re: competition very positive. It involves more those taking part, and also all of us, who are not so literate in computer design, by commenting etc. I also like idea of the rough sketch made by you. Others can also crop someone else's design, and elaborate on that part which needs retouching.

Seems we'e on the right track

In my opinion you have a very vaild point here.
As far as I know, when it comes to design, be it, promo advert, logo, software etc... there are different routes in getting satisfactory results... but the best approaches seem to agree on some points.

One very important point here is that a very good way of getting the best result is obtain as many prototypes (crude, raw sketches) as possible...filter the potential canididates and take the "fit to purpose" parts (building blocks) and ideas and amalgamate into one track.

Then subject to feedback and mould into a some mediumly detailed prototypes....

One prototype is then subjected to detailed feedback, as in colours, tonalities etc

What I am sure of is that the worst thing to go on about it is to get one track and work blindfoldidly with it unti it is finished without any feedback along the process. Designers are pro at their jobs but their products are best concieved when there is feedback and direction from the clients.

Like speed without without velocity.

Maybe Matrix could give us details of how things are done in the design business. :)

But beware of when it is taken to votes and voters...voting or rather democracy is a setback. Just look at the local picture....LOL

Ok guys so for the front and our re-worked logo we have:

A design by Nando, vector and high res raster:

A design by Shanook's friend, a high res raster:

Then to get an idea we have Nando with a suitable option for embroidery as there are additional limitations, the fill in colour is taken from the garment colour:

And finally a full vector no fill again, garment or item background takes the fill colour:

Thoughts and comments, be respectful though to the designers they put in a lot of hard work!

A woman who has never seen her husband fishing, doesn't know what a patient man she married !

There is no such thing as too much equipment.

Guys the first two are different and essentially what we need to decide on. So it's a question of deciding between them as they are our original logo re-worked to a higher res and quality by both designers

LapsiBoy

Personnaly i think the top one (Nando's one) is a bit nicer, i think the font is nicer and also the colour..mind you they are all very nice so no offence to anyone but we have to choose only 1

LapsiBoy

Wonderful job guys 10x a lot for your dedication and I think I agree with the rest. The first logo should do the job.
Let's stick to one of these two guys and start the manufacture !!!
Uniforms comin up guys !!!

A nice function for the presentation of these tops/shirts/jackets/caps should be organised in my opinion. I don't know if others agree. I have something in mind alreay so as soon as we're close to the final product I'll let you know.

Sorry, may I give you some advice re the logos chosen. Please don't get me wrong I am just trying to help from experience.

If this logo is going to be printed on t-shirts, there are two main methods that this could be done, or by using screen printing, or else by plastic transfer (life a photocopy on a tshirt)

In my advice the best quality and cost effective method to use is screen printing. This method applies layers of paint coat on the shirt. he disadvantage is that there is a limit on the number of colours one can use. Normally a logo does not contain lots of colours. To have a professional logo try to keep it to a maximum of 4 coulors, much of the worlds top branded logos in fact use only one colour.

In my opinion the first logo is the most attractive but this logo is not suitable for printing on tshrts caps ect. Its best used on letterheads, website, adverts ect.

Skip try to give us a 2 or three colour samples of the first logo, maybe even using different shades of blu.

Another thing is that the logo should be in twain vector layered format, preferably designed using Freehand MX and in CMYK

I don't know if I explained myself clearly. If you want those person working on the logo can contact me in PM
