Hawaiian slings

I'm packing together all my spearfishing gear and I've got the spear for my hawaiian sling but I can't find the handle with the elastic, is there anywhere in malta that sells them do you know?

And while we're on the subject do any of you guys use one? I've used them a bit, I like them when I'm really shallow or feeling primitive, but I think I prefer the pole spear as I have a nice pole spear that has a cord attached to my arm. The hawaiian sling spear can be a pain cos you always have to go get it off the bottom. And I like the pole spear because on the small stuff, usually hogfish in florida, you can often do 2 or 3 shots in the same dive until you hit one

I think I never heard someone using them here in Malta

Spearo I just want to remind you that here the fish we have unfortunately are much more wise than the US ones I guess. Infact they are all with a University degree.

hehe, I'm bringing spearguns too but can't be leaving any toys behind! Pole spears around rocks where you lie and wait for a fish to come to you can be pretty good and it can be a real pain reloading the band gun. I've got one of those pneumatic air spearguns which is good for the reef and easy to reload but still not as easy as a pole spear. But the reach is a bit limited with a pole spear so you might be right, so I'll have to see just how smart these fish of yours are!

Trust us spearo..........much more than you are thinking.

Just watch an apnea video taken somewhere not in the mediterannean, and then compare for yourself.

Here we have also very humorous fish, they will come in your face and laught at your pole.

Well I've packed up all my gear to ship it ahead of time and the hawaiian sling spear was a foot too long anyway so no hawaiian sling but the pole spear is 2 piece so that fit in. Oh yeah!!!
