Hi guys after some extensive and expensive research
i have come to a conclusion that doubble hooks are better then single or trebble hooks when it comes to lampuki
i did not loose one fish on the doubble stainless steel yamashita hooks as with the trebble and single i lost fish and the ones i kept had started ripping
so i decided to shift to doubbles this season

does anyone feel the same or disagrees

good luck

I concur on that, bad with trebles and singles.

So far I always used doubles but this year i lost quite alot of fish on the double. So last time out I used small trebles. still lost fish. So not sure about the issue.

With the smaller Lampuki the trick is to throttle right back almost to a stop to avoid ripping the hooks out. This was my experience.

In my opinion, lampuki smaller than 500grammes are best caught on the small trebles with 30mm line . Anything bigger than that and I switch to Stainless Steel Double Hooks on 40mm leaders.  Later on in the season I get bigger double hooks and switch to 50mm leaders.

what size of hooks would you recommend ?

ciappinu

I'm not an expert in sizes, I'm not sure what size they are to be honest. I buy hooks by sight not by size!
