Yes I am not giving off any watch, but still i need some more motivation from your end to help out somehow.

Due to the large number of boats a new checkpoint has been added for Valletta/Msida boats, the checkpoint will be at the Marsamxett Pier (Near the Valletta water polo pitch & near the Al Mare Restaurant) will open at around 2am to allow enough time to check all boats and for them to make their way down safety to the B'Bugia start point which will take around 1hr.

The COMPULSORY meeting for all skippers will be held on the 22nd June 19:30, at Giordanos Bar & Restaurant, Triq is-Sidra, Swieqi. During this meeting skippers must as a minimum register themselves and their vessels. In addition we will give a basic safety briefing, and discuss the rules in more detail.  All skippers must attend this meeting; crew are welcome to come along.

Some updates/clarifications:

Boat Inspection Checkpoints:

Boats will be inspected before the competition start between at the following locations (If you are not checked you cannot compete)

02:00 – 03:15
Marsamxett Pier – Near Valletta Waterpolo Pitch Approx GPS: 35°54'1.47"N  35°54'1.47"N

03:00 – 04:00
B'Bugia – San Gorg Jetty  35°49'48.73"N  14°31'56.64"E

03:45 – 04:15
Marfa Jetty – Approx GPS: 35°59'13.47"N  14°20'40.85"E (Opposite Ramla Bay Hotel Resort)
04:00 – 04:45
Gnejna Bay Jetty – Approx GPS: 35°55'15.32"N   14°20'38.08"E

All vessels are requested to hold just off the quay to ensure sufficient space for each vessel to come alongside, and then make their way to the nearest start position once checked.

Proposed Competition Start Time & Locations:

Southern Area 04:30 from the fairway buoy outside the Freeport – this will be the start point for Valletta, Msida boats as well

Marfa Northern Area 1 – 04:30 leaving from Marfa Jetty

Gnejna Northern Area 2 – 05:00 leaving from Gnejna Jetty

The presentation event will also be at Giordanos in Swieqi and will take place AFTER the World Cup ends to avoid any clashes

Robby for those not familar with the area do you think you could post some directions to help them find the place depending if they're coming from the valley, main road etc? Thanks

map 1 via san gwann

follow the red line from San Gwann Valley into Triq is Swieqi, then take 3rd road on the left (after 2 red slow down ramps) into Triq is Sidra.... drive up to Giordano's which will be on your right..... or else, if following the red line is complicated..... follow the yellow line instead and stop next to St Andrew's Farm which will be on your right and park there... you will have to continue on foot (the black line) as the road is one way traffic flowing.... its only a 1 minute walk.

map 2 via Regional Road

After crossing the Manwel Dimech Bridge take the first exist on your left and drive down to Triq is Swieqi and take a sharp 90 degree turn to the left.... go straight until you pass Miracle Food Stores, take first right after Miracle Foods into Triq is Sidra and drive up to Giordano's.
