If you intend to take Sport Fishing Seriously then having a pressurised sea water flush down system is going to be an essential part of your equipment. Depending on your type of boat will dictate how you use it, but its invaluable for flushing away blood splatters that your big game leave behind on deck but more importantly sea water is the only thing you should be using to rinse fish either whole or when you gut them.

Don't touch them with fresh water or you will ruin the quality of the fish.

This year we've installed a through hull unit with a shower fixture on the stern in order to clean and gut fish at sea before putting them on ice, or slush, 2/3 ice and 1/3 sea water. If you can get your Ice Flakes made from sea water then thats even better.

Through hull fittings should be bronze, with a shut off valve inside the boat, double lined heavy duty pipe up to the pump which should ideally be mounted above the waterline level with an inline filter just before the pump. You can then plumb Acorn or something similar to the outlet.

ITT Jabsco are one of the best pumps you can get, but expect to pay around Lm70.00 for a 25PSI run dry version.

Tecnomarine Boat Park (www.tecnomarine.biz) limits of Burmarrad have good experience installing these and I would recommend them, though any boat yard with reasonable experience should be up to the job.
