would anyone know of any good places ...never had any luck but seen many videos with success?

I tried micro jigging today from the shore at Mistra for the first time ever and I had no bites. I guess it is much harder than the videos actually show. Like you (thedude0078) I also watched plenty of videos but I surely can't say that I know the tricks how this is done.

I would appreciate any help that anyone is willing to share with me.

People will not share places... you have to discover by trial and error.... that is a fun part of fishing too....

I am fully aware that people will not share places Granitu as it is like asking someone to give you some gold.

What I wish to know is whether some jigs work more than others. Another useful tip would be whether I should search for places were it is deeper like 10m, or if that is still not deep enough to jig from the shore.

I was using a 14g jig, with assist hooks. I used various techniques, but no bites. I was trying to jig between 2:00pm and 5:30pm although I stopped jigging at one point and used a rig with fresh prawns and caught 3 fish.

First of all some points I would like to show you.This time for year is the worst time for jigging in my opinion always, secondly u have better chances if you jig in deeper waters but best months begin from September onwards.We used to jig for 5 hrs sometimes with no bites and then going the day after during break for only 15 minutes and having 5 catches unbelievable u have to see to believe man, that s the nice part of fishing too. Be sure no one will tell you any hotspots at least that s my experience maybe the best chance u have that someone will be drunk lol!Apart from jokes jigs that won t work today maybe will work tomorrow doesn t mean they re not good, It depends a a lot on the current and also the sea if it s calm or not also the day if it s sunny or rainy and also if it s in morning noon or afternoon, believe me everything is important and you should take notes whenever you catch something on how the current was what time u had bites and currents etc....

Suggest you buy an app to get access to marine charts - It will solve the problem of depts.

I have one granitu but my problem is what depths should I look at? 10 meters seems that it is still too shallow and lets face it, there are only few places where I can go which have 30 meters depth from the shore

Jigging from shore would not produce many results here I believe. Finding deeper waters should be better probably. Dont have experience though so cant help more.

Is it essential to have a jigging rod for vertical jigging or a normal rod will do?

it is highly important that you have a shore vertical jigging rod.
