| May 26, 2009, 19:35:27 CET Well I let the weight sink to the bottom, which was about 500mtrs. As soon as it hit the bottom i reeled in a couple of meters at which point I felt u huge jerk on the rod which really caught me off guard and nearly took the rod off my hand. Immediately switched on the electric reel and started to pull the beast off the bottom however after about 25 mins i only managed to take in about a 100mtrs of line and had to do the rest manually as the reel became really hot. It took me an hour to finally see it emerge about 50 meters away from the boat, I am telling you it was an awesome sight. Only one hook was left in it and it was stuck in its tail, so I can say I was really lucky. |
