Title: Attacked at sea
Post by: SPNOTTA on December 17, 2008, 15:24:01 CET
It was a normal day, a standard hunt, the regular aspetto (must have been my hundredth), usual spot, the typical visibility BUT unexpectedly I felt pressure on my back. A cold shiver went down my spine, I froze for a few seconds, my imagination was running wild and incurred a slide show all sorts of dramatic scenarios. I knew there was a living being on my back but what kind of creature dares to sit on one of the highest trophic hunters around, man himself???

I stood motionless and thought that the only feasible explanation was that my buddy was playing a prank on me. I discarded the thought immediately?my buddy is surely not the type to play with safety. The problem was that I couldn?t hold my breath any longer?just as I was going to give up, I visualized part of the creature on the lens of my mask. The puzzle was solved and everything made sense. Actually, the respective octo in the pic is another octo but it was roundabout the same size. Also, I must add that I had to wait for the octo to remove itself from my back cause (shy, shy, blush) I wasn?t strong enough to remove it by myself. I felt so weak afterwards and happy also?spaghetti marina?you know.

Did you know that octos do not have 8 arms but 6 arms and 2 legs?

3.5K cleaned actually but I don't want to fool you I am no octo hunter and very lacking in collecting them anyways I prefer landing pelagic fish a thousandfold.

Did you know that octopuses die after copulation, the male a few months after and the female through overtending and overparenting the sibblings???!!! Bless the stars we are not octos!!!!

aha
You know how we are spearos, its a bit hard to swallow, but I also have to admit that I beleive you, for some unexpected reason.
It could be two reasons,
1- It was new years day and the octo had been out drinking vodka all ight long
2- You was performing a very good aspetto, and extremely lucky

Such octopuses are not commonly seen everyday, let alone one climbing on my back, telling me 'pinch of garlic, tomatoes, olive oil, parsley, salt and pepper' :P

You see guys, when you respect our seas, they will in turn respect and reward you ;D ;D

I AM EXTREMELY LUCKY!!! at sea ....that is :)
My buddy can confirm this...
I am no good at finding octos...I am just lucky

WOULD YOU BELEIVE THE FOLLOWING...???

A few weeks ago I found a 10 euro note floating nearby...during an aspetto...the sea compensated me (in money terms!!!!!) for the damage I incurred on my speargun that same day...you should have seen my buddy's face when I came up with the note. LOL
