Post by: LapsiBoy on February 14, 2009, 06:50:24 CET
Aldo im not a spearfisher (I have a harpoon but use it only for fun). I was searching the internet and came across this. ''Dees diamond flasher''.
I think it's very interesting and can have some great results, Ive even tought of  pulling it behind the boat whilst trolling, But it's more for spearfishing.
Here Check it out yourself : http://www.deesdiamondflashers.com/catching-fish-tips/how-to-spearfish-spearfishing-with-dees-flashers.htm

Hi lapsiboy these diamondflashers have been on the market for a very long time but I don't think they are good for spearfishing in the med  they are designed to be used in the ocean infact no big company like beuchat omer cressi ecc that make spearfishing equipment to be used in the med have ever put things like these on the market, but if you check other companys like riffe abellan ecc which make equipment for the ocean you will find this product for sure .

Altough I don't think they are good for spearfishing in Malta I 'm not saying they cannot  be used for other types of fishing like trolling ecc  , but better let other members of the forum which are more experts on different types of fishing to write what they think!

Emic your right I am sure if will work for swordfish.

We had one experimented with mirrors attached before the bait.

They seemed to work although no scientific evidence.  It becomes like a spinner and attracts curious fish.
