Hi Guys,anyone know of a good Sat engineer .Or is it possible to upgrade the decoder itself at the monent all I can watch in English is the News.Thanks for your help.  ;D

What is the make and model of your decoder, what sort of cam have you got and are u set up on astra/hotbird ?

Hi Freeman the decoder is a samsung DSB-A200C.The cam is an orion premium x cam.It,s about 4 years old and doesn,t seem to work any more.Also I get a lot of chanells that come up no audio/visual signal.I had an engineer look at it and he said its because they have shifted frequencies,so i ran the download from the satelites again but it still the same.I,m tuned to astra 1 and hotbird 1-5 any help would be appreciated. thanks.

there isnt much going on Astra or hotbird i moved to Arab sat about five channels with english films (with arab sub title). Also u can move to thor and u get discovery channels and a few English films.

None of the sat providers pay any rights to transmit to malta, there are no laws regarding sat channels.

I don't want to enter into a debate here, however free to air, are free to air, however if a channel is scrambled it is done so for a reason and you then need to purchase a viewing card if available in your country, which in the case of Malta it is not, therefore you are not legally allowed to view the channel even if you manage to find a way to view it without a card.

Not asking about circumventing sat tv Nick,wouldn,t do that on the forum just asking if someone could help with getting more engish channels Shannook has suggested changing sat from astra to arab sat,nothing illegal in doing that is there.
