Title: Carbon vs fiber
Post by: Simon G on August 14, 2006, 17:48:49 CET
All my rods are carbon as they are ligher and easier to handle
but they are very very delicate which makes it a pain as you cand mistreat them
do good fibre rods perform as good as carbon ones ?

well, all my reel rods are fibre . i also had a couple of short (4m) fibre rods which were ok , but then i bought a 6m carbon hand rod and i must say the difference is quite big. i decided to only use carbon rods from now on . their sensitivity is amazing , not to mention their light weight , however simon is right , you DO have to take care of them. however i try to take care of all my equipment so it's not really an issue

One of the must dos when taking care of your rods is to rinse them with warm water as it removes more salt then cold water

yep . i always do that to my rods , and my reels too. simon ,since u know a lot about equipment , i was wondering , what would be a good rod for bottom fishing from a small boat ? my friends have a 14 foot boat so i guessa short rod would be best as we dont have much room to move around . any reccomendations as to what to look for ?

there are a few the best are 1-1.2mt one piece fiber rods
they cost about lm5 and are easy to store on the boat.
you can also use them for trolling for lampuki and other small fish
i know fishing world have and also aquatica.
