Title: buying rods and reels

hi guys.im planning to buy some rods and reels to use in malta.any suggestions pls.will use them mainly for trolling

Any ideas what you want to troll for?

I would say something like a Shimano TLD25 with 30-40lbs mono and a 20-40lbs standup 5ft6 trolling rod should suffice for things like Albacore and similar.

Or if you want to spend less check out some of the Okuma reels and match to a non expensive boat rod.....Ta'Bormla in Mosta has a good choice.

thx skip.im not sure what i will be trolling for maybe albacore,lampuki etc.im in the usa. so thats why im asking for some advice my first time buying this stuff

Look for a bundle rod/reel deal in the US for the TLD25.....places like Cabelas, tackledirect, etc probably your best bet and will give you a versatile set up
