The presentation event for the Alungi Competition will be held on Saturday 18th July at Beachaven - Xemija

Everyone is invited, whether you participated or not along with your wives, partners and kids if you so wish.

We'll probably be starting the event at around 7.30pm perhaps with RLR's new Northstar 220CC powered by an E-Tec 200hp on display alongside weather permitting.

A fully stocked bar at special rates will be available.

The prize giving ceremony will happen before the food as I appreciate that not everybody may be able to stay late, followed by the food.

I will need to know in advance who wants a Chicken Burger instead of a Beef Burger and confirmation in advance of those who want to eat for catering reasons.

We have tried to keep the prices low as from the feedback last time with some members who are students etc they have been finding things expensive at previous events.

Come on guys let's have some more participation.....it's very disappointing to see that only a few people have confirmed. This is our first outdoor BBQ event which we've put together because people were requesting them......in fact we chose to combine the presentation with the BBQ event to make it more appealing.

DJS asked a good question about kids.

They can do them a special price of ?6 for Burger, Sausages, Onions and Chips, or otherwise if you have two kids they can share one of the adult portions.

My only complaint with the food was the sausages which I didn't like at all, as for the starters well I hardly got to eat them because the trays were being cleaned quickly! So I def don't think there was anything wrong with those!

Bar prices were an all time bargain at ?1 for cisk and softdrinks and ?1.50 for foreign beer and spirits incl mixers...but I don't think us fishing guys drink very much!

We could certainly do better on the food but then prices at that venue would go up to nearly double in order to have Indian and Chinese main courses buffet style in addition to the chinese/indian starters, and as some ppl commented in the past on trying to keep prices low it seems either way it wasn't a win win situation because for the first summer event numbers were low. Although quite a few people had other events going on.

We'll probably cancel the BBQ planned for 22nd August and just leave the one at the end of the summer, but that's still to be decided. And it would be nice to see some new faces for a change....with 1,100 online members we always get the same ppl, not that I'm complaining as you're all a nice bunch but still..!

Many people follow this forum, but many do not even post, wonder if they would join in an event..... What is it???? Are they shy?? Egoism??? Personal Interest?? Buqqqqqqqqqq

They for sure never organised anything in their lives, and always waited for this poor guy who spreads out everything for them. If you ever tried to organise something, (like I did millions of times) then for sure you would think otherwise. They do not know how demotivated you get some of the times.

Re: Last event.
As everytime we enjoyed it.
As skip said sausages were horrible, but we have to take in account that we made use of his facilities, etc so.. Drinks were also very reasonable.
We had fun as usuall and that is what matters.

Re comming events: For next bbq I also have this dilemma??? Do we have a too busy schedule? Should we cancel it? Or should we make it members only? Skip bear in mind that not all the members are coupled up, and those who are not, they may not attend some of the events for this reason. It also happens that girlies might moan, and people tend to subdivide in smaller groups due to the prescence of the ......... ;D So a mix of activities between members only and accompanied is a must .............according to my studies ;D ;D ;D

well done skip and Co ...... considering the amount of hurdles along the way the alungi event was great.

For me each and every event is something to remeber, altough as you say we're getting used to the same faces, there will always be a first time for others and giving them opportunites is the best thing.

Next bbq shouldn't be abolished for me, one like the Gnejna one of last year would be fantastic with Gianpula as afterhours   ;D ;D ;)

Depends the age noztheviking, when you arrive at a certain age, there's no performance not even if you have a 3 phase supply available, let alone a solar powered head.
