I guess like anything else they're running around but one doesn't seem them in abundance until a certain period. As I've never caught one have no idea when that would be, or I could be talking total rubbish and they're around all year!

Me and rammx caught some in june also from the shore...there was a big shoal and we should have caught more tbh!! And last year a freind of mine caught some at the very end of march & june also...as skip mentioned i suspect that they might well be an all year round fish but only be seen & caught in abundance at certain peiods...boq!

Guys, Ive never fished for kubrit using a rod and lure setup but i would like to try it out since ive always use white feathers (There still my favourite)
So what lures would you sugest? Leader length and diameter? And lead ? etc
Any help would be appreciated so next week il go try it out since our area is packed with kubrit. I have a rapala xrap (the small size. approx 6cm ) which i think is good, its the silver blue mackerel.

Yesterday, the marsamxett competition took place and a lot of Kubrit were caught, all sizing from 0.6 to 1.2Kg., with the exception on one of 3.2Kg. All these kubrit were caught on white feathers while trolling with the "Rixa ta Tumbrell"

Bigboy, you can see full information about what each person in the Marsamxett competition caught by accessing the results sheet through the following link:
http://www.boatlinkmalta.com/marsamxett.html

The results are usually out on the website with 24-48hours of the end of the competition.
