the best way is to fillet it and then fry or steam as you would with any other fish. otherwise you can cook it whole but you will have some work to eat it after it is done.rub some lemon and salt from inside and outside and leave it for 15 minutes and rinse well before you cook it.

Ara din hamranija qisa bis-saqajn. Qbadta min post mhux ramlu u bhala lixka qbadta......bil-hniex tal-hamrija! :) Propja mort ghal klamari imma sibt dan il-hniex li kien twil xi pied u hadtu mieghu u qbadt rundunell u pagella. Hadt mieghi ukoll erba sawrelliet zghar u qbadt zewg morini. Bhala klamar tellajt wiehed zghir li tajjeb bhala lixka. Hemm xi cans insiru nafu kif naghmlu dan il-hniex tal-art ghax sibthom tajbin!

Yes gurnard is a very good fish to eat ! The best thing to do is wash the stomach really well place in an oven tray add water about 1/3 to almost 1/2 covered, 1 lemon cut in half and squeezed and put the rest with the fish, 2 Bay leaf (weraq tar rand), a piece of celery and parsley stalk (zokk tal karfus u ta tursina ) a good splash of olive oil some white wine a good amount of rock salt and pepper cover with foil and put in the oven, this method is good for cippulats as well

3)huta li qiesa ghasfur= ghadma nsibuwa ahna u xi kultant ijsa titfewaq xhin taqbada (skuzi il kelma :) )
