can I take a guess before we receive a reply. They are full time fisherman who have the necessary license but they were using this boat as the MF boat is undergoing repairs ?!?!?!?!?!?! At the moment of the picture being taken they were dragging the net as it was stuck to the bottom........now try to argue against that.........

This is not the only gut that collects nets in the morning. After this case there were 2 days where you cannot see anyone with the nets but after somedays again you see more of them. If they watch these guys they will surely catch them.

'Trammels and gilling nets are not allowed to be used from
the 15th February to the 15th July' in marked places.

First of all I made a mistake not 'only gut' but 'guy'.

The marks are the coloured pillars white & red and Black & White.

24. Trammels and gilling nets are not allowed to be used from
the 15th February to the 15th July in those localities where the use
of the seine net is prohibited. In the Grand and Marsamxett
harbours, the use of these implements is prohibited at all times
within the prohibited areas above mentioned.

Yesterday I was doing a BBQ at Marsascala exactly near the old Jerma Palace hotel and guess what two guys with the luzzu came throwing their nets not even 20m from shore . Note that they threw the net all around the coast from 15 to 20m away from the coast.

At this moment I was very fu***d up !

Then about 10 min later an other different luzzu came and threw his net exactly on the other's net !

Then I was laughing caus as the other one came and saw him throwing his net on his and they started fighting !!!!!! hahahahaha

The authorities were supposed to take some action but guess what?
On Monday the same guy with an S registration was throwing his nets again. Don't know what else to do.

That s why I never post topics regards this issue. It s always the same and guess what??? Then if you get caught with an undersize fish they take your boat.

Last week in Zurrieq while I was fishing, we saw a couple of dolfins. The area was extra full with nets. And when I say extra full I was meaning more then 10 boats collecting nets. Not only that, just in front of the Blue grotto there was a surface line (konz) and 1 of the dolfins got hooked in it. Not nice to see it. There was 2 boats going around to this fishing line.

Then we went to do a dive in the shellow and when we ancored a boat came on us. Just underneat us there was their net. It was in 3mts of water!!!

Then the day after we saw same guy trowing more nets in one of the best area that I know at lapsi. Was really pissed off seeing this cos for sure he would had done lots of mullets in the net for nothing. This is a reason this year that I had nt posted pics with mullets. At the moment there is only very few 4-5kg ones but lots of 1-2kg. Like all spearos that we know the place if we want we can do a boat full of them if even us trow nets in special places like these, but when you see that others are doing this, sure one get pissed off.

not only that, when we saw the dolfins we was for the klamari. 4am there was someone diving. At 5.30am had to meet a guy to come with us on the boat, and while passing back we counted the same guys doing spearfishing. Like most of us in every sport had done mistakes and even me  before cos no one before had ever mantioned how bad this is, but not  things had changed, fish stock had changed, so every one must do his effort so that we can keep our hobby.
