Title: Weekend of the 15th June 07
Post by: skip on June 14, 2007, 23:03:02 CET
I reckon this weekend, with the forecast for a gentle Force 3 for days and higher temps and UV index should set the scene for some good fishing. With the strong UV and temps the water surface temp should attract some baitfish which in turn should start the cycle.

Hopefully you guys will report good catches, maybe some Albacore or a Tuna.

Fingers crossed and hope things really start to pick up now.

The Ghaqda Dilettanti tas-Sajd ta' Marsamxett organised a competition for alungi last Saturday but the results were not encouraging at all. It seems that several boats caught nothing and the total number of alungi caught by all the participating boats only amounted to around 5. :(

Damn it really is super slow then. I heard about that competition but I'm surprised the number of catches was that low. The fish simply haven't come in close to our shores. I went diving and the surface temp was 25C but at around 4-5m it was 20C.
