As summer is approaching, I intend to organise another MFF BBQ, with the permission of the Forum Administration Team.
The Venue for this time is something different from usuall, and I am sure you will all love the atmosphere.
This is open to all members and guests.
I just need an idea of when to organise it..... after the Alungi comp or before?
Friday or Saturday?
Any comments are appreciated... ;)

i finish exams 15th june, so any time after that....... except for 25-29 june.. will be in lampedusa with another 5-6 who'd attend the bbq...... and of course the alongi comp. any other day, im in.

Depends on work , also during this time of the year many take a week off so one has to cover them (ie over time).

BBQ to be held on Saturday the 19th June.
Event open to all members and guests.

2 Piece Meat or Chicken Breast.

Drinks to be bought from the bar at very reasonable prices. Alcohol at 1.25 euro per shot.

There is also the possibility of a suckling pig, but if number of those choosing to it is more than 20.
So anyone attending Lists his name down including number of persons attending and if meat or chicken. (those who would like pork list it down in brackets, but then write also meat or chicken just in case there is no suckling pig)

Follow the outside road of imtarfa, until you arrive at the top corner and to your right you will see a path where the wall is interrupted, and there is a light on the top of the wall on the left side of it.
There is also a sign Pinkpromotions.
Get down with your car.
Although the road is a bit steep, it is cemented and there is ample parking down.
Then admire the view..

Just been to the BBQ venue on a recce, so we knew were it was.
Coming from Mosta direction, head for Mdina signs, you will go up a road were the Chadwick Lakes, will be on your right hand side and further on there is a garage on your left hand side, go up to the roundabout and take the last exit,at the next round about go straight on, sign posted Mtarfa, go up to the top of the hill and just before a sharp left hand bend, you will see a break in the wall, there is a small light on the top of the wall, turn into there and you will see a barrier, go through the barrier and follow the road down to the venue.
You will know you are in the right place because there is a very, very steep downhill track, which has been concreted. A bit like going down the big dipper, in fact it is that steep, I am not sure whether my car will make it back up the hill.
time for the 4x4 to get in action ;D...we will walk
I can assure you that before it had been concreted, it was much worse and we still succeeded going up and down with a lot of cars.
Today I go down with a mini, peugeot 106, ford escort etc
So yes it is steep, but you go up and down no prob. and after all that's part of the fun of the place. :-)
You will go up for sure...we managed to do it drunk so i think sober will be a piece of cake lol

Guys first of all thanks for your attendance.
Pitty the weather conditions did not permit us to interact as we wished, since that people were freezing, but that is something that goes beyond our control.
I have to put here a number of comments on yesterday:
My apologies goes for the lacking organisation of the venue. As a person I am very precise, and the owner of the place did not satisfy me at all. I had a very different perception of the place. The appetizers were not equally shared, the food arrived 2 hours late, the menu was not as he wrote me (supposedly we had rice with sweet something, sausages, 2 pieces of beef, helwa tat-tork etc). I do not remember the exact menu since that I shreded his advert in million pieces.
Moreover, the soud level was exagerated, and the waiters were idiots.
I was furious, and very disappionted, since that people may blame me for this. I tried to find a better and cheaper alternative (12euro compared to the 20euro we usually pay), and so that people do not think that I am somehow biased in my decisions, but I went very dissatisfied.
Positive comments:
The place is very nice (in good weather)
The food we ate was delicious.
We met, and that's very important for me.

Sorry to hear you had some problems as you rightly point out these were beyond your control and I know exactly how you feel when as the organiser you get let down by 3rd parties. It sounds like you still had a good time and made the best of what was available.
Well done for going out of your way to organise such an event, it's a lot alot of hard work that goes on the background.
First of all a big thanks to baghira for organising the bbq and for all the time and effort you put in, well done.
From my group the only complaint we had was for the weather, a bit on the chilly side, but out of anybodys control, kinda reminded me of having bbq's in the uk :-) Thought the food was delicious and there was plenty of it, we all went home with full tummies and in good spirits, probably caused by too much wine and beer.
Looking forward to the next one.
dont worry baghira we enjoyed ourselves the same. its not your fault that the service was not good. sometimes its better to go to the same places that gave good service

Mgarr was good but we were too crowded,
