Title: wetsuit, is it important afterall?
Post by: Granitu on July 05, 2007, 13:27:05 CET
is it important to wear a wet suit when diving in terms of spearing a fish? i need an idea as big fish are unwary to get in close shot range even if you perform techniques like aspetto? any ideas ( particularly to simon .. i know he's an experienced diver)

yes it is very important to use a wetsuit the ones i use are the omer med mimetic when operating in shallow water (aspetto, aguato)
and the ocean mimetic when i am doing open water or deep water
the advantage i found is that your outline becomes confused with the bottom (or the surface depending on what you do) and the fish cant recognize you

they range from lm 85 to lm235 depending on what you want
a good cheap one is the topsub  it seels for lm 85 and is mimetic
the ones i use are omer which retail at around lm 135 but he will give it to you at lm 100
if you intend using it allot i would go for an XX1 custom around lm 130
you adapt the colours to your technique
