Interesting, never seen those before. They look like a cross between an eel and a cuda

are these the type of fish that maltese tend to call cintorin?

yes they are cintorin. these were caught with bottom long lines. when fishing for squid from the boat sometimes they catch your squid jigs and cut the line. it can be very expensive. if you put down a line with a vopa or a piece of fish you catch one easily
