Title: Diesel Tank
Post by: bigboy on December 12, 2010, 20:13:46 CET
Hey guys :)

Im about to install a new fuel tank to my boat.

What would you think is the best sollution?

Tank made from sheet metal and coated with epoxy ? (Thats what everyone recomended up to now)

Tank made from fiberglass ??

Or tank made from Plastic (ready made tanks for diesel)

All i need is a 60 - 70 ltr tank as before i had a 110 ltr tank fitted in my boat which was big for nothing.

if you have the space I would opt for a ready made plastic. I think it's safest at that size.

Plastic tanks are the safest ones.

Other, but more expensive, options are aluminium or stainless steel.  They are not without long-term problems however.

If you opt for a "plastic" tank, make sure that it is rated/certified/guaranteed for diesel storage.
