you have to see what kind of fishing you will be doing and what is your target. Wood gives more stability in water but need to care a lot about it and doing service regularly. I suggest to get a good carbone one. If you see my videos, (when I m with the double red rubbers) i catch fish where doesn t even can be seen on the camera. There I m talking regards the 125cm gun

Thanks for your reply. ive got the mares phantom 75 and the viper 90cm. The phantom is very good to search under rocks etc. But for open water its too small. And my viper i think it good a bit old so i tought of buying a new one and increase a bit the lenght. What do u suggest for a 125cm carbon? thanks.

can t compare these 2 guns with the marlin carbone elite, if talking regards the viper it was a good gun for it s price but the phantom I had bad expiriance with them. Thats not a safe gun and I never go with a guy that has a fantom in his hand. If it s loaded and u hit the rocks it seasy that it fires

100% agree with Emic. I recommend the Marlin for precision and long range shooting. I got one recently

rixa444 is one of the guys that changed from a viper to a marlin even of a shorter lenght he has more power and acurite shoot.

At the moment Im working on a project to test guns available in the market and what kind of penetration and accurancy they have. When fishing I fish for the big ones, the 125 I even put 3 rubbers very short at a factor of 350%, and yes it gives recoil but when I shoot the fish is always on the spear.

When going for the big ones I prefare I have more power and don t shoot to near  ones, then dont penetrat them. THis year I was using a Torsion spear (version 1) where it ws of the old moddel. Really a good spear but when I shot on an Aj of 35kg+ it did penetrate it for more then 20cm but the wing didn t opened. If I had same spear but with the setup of 3 rubbers (16mm) yes they I would penatrated for sure. Remember that I use the 125 as for seabreams and even for ajs, groupers and dentex where lot of my friends that heve woden guns don t even thik to use it for breams

yes I am testing more then 20 differnt guns of different makes. It s been ages I wished to do it but now that have some spare time to do it let do a detail test. This can give us details that one can t find them unless it is tested. I will be filming and putting them on the youtube.

For the Carbone marlin elite you can go to Expo Subaqua, 20, St John Str Valletta or send me a pm.
