Title: Penn 155 Reel
Post by: Shaftbomb on May 26, 2011, 13:23:34 CET
I have 3 PENN 155 Reels that I use for alungi fishing with one of them giving me problems.  The issue with it is that the line just keeps reeling out of it even though I set the drag.  Anybody knows what is going on?  Or does anybody know any individual who fixes these reels in Malta?

Have a look at alantani.com he is a reel repair guru and runs his own forum/site as well.

He might even have a guide on stripping down that reel as well.

@shaftbomb : maybe drag plate/s are worn out if reel has been used for quite a long time....

I bought my reels from Cabelas.  Never dismantled them for the heck of it they are practically brand new used only 3-4 times!  I tried playing with the drag, tightening it and loosing it and the line just goes out anyway.  I will try to take to the dealer in malta...
