guys, anyone has ever bought from usa or uk from websites such as cabela? if so, do you know the tax or duties that customs/post charge?
from uk there is no tax or duties but only vat.most of the times that is included in the purchasing price.From outside eu it all depends on the mood of some customs officials.believe me,you can never tell!
so of everything turns out on luck. Are there any guidelines or the maximum charges (%) that one can incur? they must surely have some form of regulations

it depends on the total value of the package. If it is more than 50 eur than u most probably have to pay 18% on the total amount of the package. If the item is eg alcohol, perfume, tobacco etc than you have to pay excise duty aswell. As correctly said it depends on the customs agent's mood sometimes, because sometimes i paid the 18% and other times i just paid a small fee for customs. In my opinion its best to buy from the EU (except when the price diff is high) because the parcel arrives at your door and you dont have to wait about 3 hours at the most inefficient post office in the world.

sometimes they get to your door even things from outside the eu with the customs bill.all depends on the mood.

i think its over 100 euros that you pay 18% from usa
anything over The equivalent of Lm 10 in Euro you should pay 18% VAT
Over and above Eur 150 in CIF value, you have to pay an additional 3% customs duty
Fees in reality are applied at the discretion of Customs, and in this respect we are very lucky
