Post by: Gogo on May 07, 2012, 11:10:08 CET
Dear All,

Today I and Federation President Mr.Frank Abela had a very cordail meeting with Fisheries Control Division Officials on the Blue Fin Tuna Permit for recreational fishing.
Draws for the Bluefin Tuna have been suspended. Following clarification of the present situation, it was agreeded that within the week our suggestions will be analized and a final agreed decision for the benefit of both parties will be issued.

I understand that fisheries have started calling people this morning, so it would appear that they are issuing the permits. Dr Joe can you confirm?

Dear Nick and All,

Yes as I had previously posted, the Fisheries Department had accepted that all applicants of last year who applied for Tuna Permit will be included for this year as well.

A 1500 quota will be available among all participants untill exhausted and all applications will have the permit. There are no draws.
