Title: Regulations and licenses
Post by: albelfo on July 04, 2012, 11:59:47 CET
Good morning,

I would like to know if it´s necessary to have a license for shore fishing and the main regulations that are applied to this practice.

I am going to buy a rod today and I would like to know if there are some special areas where fishing is forbidden or something like this.

Thank you.

Hi Albelfo - There is no specific licence to regulate shore fishing.  Howver, there are regulatory guidelines concerning minimum ctach size.  Up on the right hand side corner of this forum, you will see a blue button that directs you Malta's fishing regulations.

Hi,

I read the regulations about minimun sizes, but I do not need it because I normally throw the most part of what I cacht back to the sea, except good captures. In my country you need a license to go fishing and I just wanted to be sure that there was not similar license here.

Thank you for the info.
