Title: fishing during the war?
Post by: ballastbelly on August 05, 2012, 17:09:21 CET
during the food shortage during the war, couldnt they have solved this problem by fishing ?  simply bil qazba, or for octopus/sea urchins , not spearfishing (too much gear needed).  if you werent particular about the type of fish you caught every child & adult could easily catch a bucket of small fish every day, & by night fish would come inshore to replace the ones caught. anyone know about if they fished during the war?

You have to take in consideration that at that time many people used live far from the sea and  no transport was available for them , many others didn't even know how to swim others were scared to death from bigfish that could eat you alive while you are swimming others  didnt even have the resources to enable them to go fishing.  Fishing was practised  but only by the fisherman
