Title: Albacore in August
Post by: Searay on August 06, 2012, 18:50:53 CET
Hi Guys, i'm new to Albacore trolling and started fishing for them last year. I had a few nice catches of 2-6 fish.  Pretty decent for my new fishing venture. I went out last saturday 4th August (knowing that it was way too late in the season) and trolled from 6.30am-11am between the 1st and 2nd ridge and had 4 strikes and managed to catch 3. Is it normal to catch albacore in August? I realised that the fish were bigger than the those in june/july. Thanks for your help.

The most unusual for me was finding baby Albacore in early September when trolling 15 miles offshore for Lampuki. It was a large shoal and they were approx 1kgs
