We need to register a new auxillary with Transport Malta.
Do you know if they still ask for a "certificate of survey confirming that vessel can be equipped with such engine and consequently, will remain seaworthy and fit for its purpose" ??? (info found from TM site). How can we optain such certificate?

Survey certificates can be obtained through a nautical surveyor. I believe TM has an approved surveyors list from which one can choose. Cant answer your question with regards to TM as my vessel is registered with the fisheries department, but fisheries require the survey.

I am registered with S and did nt needed any survey to get a spare engine, but sometimes they come with something new and change things how they like
@adajab - Yes to register an auxiliary engine you must have a surveyor's report to certify that your boat is capable of carrying an extra engine without causing damage and thus be seaworthy. And my boat is also S registered. I was asked for a report when recently I registered my Johnson 8HP but due to the fact that I had previously a 9.9HP registered on same boat, there was no need for another one. Even if you are upgrading your auxiliary say from a simple 4HP to an 5HP, you need a surveyor's report. In my case I downgraded from 9.9HP to 8HP so there was no need for one.
