Its all about marketing a product at the end of the day, how well it can perform, what is has caught, how badly it can be handled and how long it can last.
Well ill be honest, big budget companies all have alot of research and development into their rods and test their stated breaking strength and more, however my query is, is it worth all that money they sell it for?
I am of this idea. If i am a sport fisher who goes out every weekend seasonally and looks after my rods, i think then personally not.
However if i was a charter company, who is out every day all year round and is using rods none stop the i believe its worth some serious consideration.
Well this year i am trying out some custom made rods and are very curious to see how they perform.
Ill keep you all posted with the progress this season.
YOURS FIN
Dear fin
we use penn rods and reels the rods are carbon and the reels senators
you can get them from cabelas for 300 dollars (30-50lbs)and 450 dollars (50-80lbs)
if you take care of them they will last a life time and more
The problem here is that the shops either stock up with cheap or expensive models not a full range.
