Title: Best spearfishing spots for beginners in Malta
Post by: Vladislav on October 18, 2014, 16:14:12 CET
Hey guys, I'm a beginner and have spearfished in UK and South of France a couple of times.
I'm planning to visit Malta in November and try to catch anything of a suitable size for a dinner. What are the best spots around Malta shores where I can try my luck without booking an offshore charter?
any info would be appreciated!

what depths do you practice your sport? and what are your targets?

At the moment my depths are 5-7 m, so I'm targeting any fish of a proper size closer to the shore line. Any tips are welcome!

quite shallow. but you can still get some reasonable bream....
But you must be lucky and tactical.... Fish populations got very low and the few remaining have Masters Level of education.....

Try always to go to places which are not easily reachable from land. You will have a hard time reaching those places, but at least you hold better chances...

Thanks for your advice man, this time it will be more about practice and getting more experience and shooting good underwater videos, but getting a bream or two will be an icing on the cake! I'll try to find some rocks or cliffs around and will follow your advice. Cheers mate.
