I'd like to ask if there is any limit on the size of the emgine you can have when you register a boat as MFC ?

It was 100hp and a topic of debate as that restriction was asked to be removed as it didn't make sense. Best to check with the Fisheries Department for the current status.

100hp limit is only for outboards.  There is no limit on the power of inboard engines.

Still does not make sense to limit the outboard power!

Sure, there it makes no sense.

The same goes with MFA and MFB boats, these are not allowed to have outboard engines.  It makes no sense at all.

Maximum outboard power cannot exceed 90HP to register a boat with MFC registration, just called a few minutes ago to query as i have a 100hp outboard.

when asked why not, got a very stupid answer...... with 100hp its a speed boat not a fishing boat.  :/ unbelievable.
