Title: Eating lizz (Barracuda)
Post by: JimMamo on March 15, 2015, 19:01:28 CET
Hi Everyone,

I moved to Malta recently and try to go fishing as much as possible. I usually catch bream and squid but recently have been trying for lizz. When i lived in the middle east, eating little fried barracuda was very popular and absolutely delicious. The bigger fish were never really sold. I was always told that the bigger ones weren't safe to eat. Is that accurate?

Do you guys eat lizz? How do you cook it? where are the best spots to fish for barracuda?

Thanks alot.

Clean it and cut off the tail and the head. Then cut it in pieces approx 2 inches long and fry it in some oil.
When fishing for lizz try to go next to those fishing for small fish from shore. All the lures work but my favourite is a a small lure with a red head. Good luck
