Title: Bahri 13FT maximum engine weight
Post by: bahri90 on May 05, 2015, 11:55:53 CET
Hi People,

I have a 13Ft Bahri boat with a 9.9hp 2-stroke Johnson which I'm considering upgrading to 20hp 4-stroke engine (with tiller). I am worried about the max weight and hp if it would be too much for the bahri making it unstable to drive. I've tried to find some kind of info regarding capacity plate without success.

The new outboard I have in mind weighs 51Kg, do you think it is too much to fit on the transom of the bahri? Thanks

20hp is fine for a bahri.  i know a number of people who have fitted a 25hp with no issue.

I had a bahri with a 25 2 stroke with no issues.

Problem might arise when registering the new engine on a bahri with transport malta. They will ask you for a survey report.

I would get a surveyor report prior to buying new engine
