Depends on the transducer used though.  I personally have a lowrance insalled on my fishing boat, but Garmin are good too, so are Raymarine and hummingbird.  It all boils down to interpretation of whats visible on the screen.  Clamari often show up as short thin horizontal lines, amberjack, like any other fish -  depending on size, come up as arcs, so its up to you and your experience to determine what kind of fish, size and depth your display is showing.  Good luck, it takes time and experience accurately reading a fishfinder.

This I a never ending story mate...
Brands.... Gramin/Lowrance/raymarine/Simrad all area good and all share many common transducers....
It depends if you want it the traditional or if you wand go for chirp, then if chirp which frequency and which wattage? No transducer is capable to give you all, and if it gives you most then it will not be that powerful, if you want power you must sacrifice other things.
What speed and depth you are targeting?
Do you want an inbuild sonar or a sonar box to connect al equipment
Do you want downscan or sidescan, now also 3d Structure scan is available....
GPs with new scanning technologies and so on....
Touch screen or buttons?
Size of screen?

So this is a very complicated issue which cannot be discussed here.. You have to read all reviews on internet, and browse websites and catalogues, and then ask retailers for more info. and prices....

Then you can ask particular issues here....
Prices for a transducer can vary from 100 euro to 2000 euro... so huge difference...
