Dear All,

I'm in need of your expertise. I am thinking of buying a small handheld VHF for my ordered Buccaneer 120. Do I need the nautical licence to buy the VHF? Also, I am interested in doing the licence, just to gain more knowledge and experience, does any one have any notes/books/scanned copies one can send me (Flags, knots required etc!)? Especially the flags and knots and syllabus? All help is appreciated!! Thank you all!

You do not need a nautical licence to buy a vhf however, you must licence your first vhf to be given a call sign for the boat etc...
