Title: Spinning for bonito
Post by: Sami on May 14, 2017, 21:15:40 CET
Hello,

This summer I will once again visit the beautiful Malta, only this time I'll bring my fishing equipment. I want to go spinner for bonito, I'll use a shimano Stradic 5000 FK with a Shimano Yasei Monster rod. As main line I use WFT Stron Line 22 KG.

I was wondering what kind of leader I should use for bonito. Do I need just mono or fluoro or is it necessary to also use some kind of steel wire? Really looking forward to your advice!

Tight lines,

Sami

0.42mm (PE8) FC line. Bonito season however is not in Summer. Late Autumn is best.

Is July a good time for skipjack?

No such thing as skipjack tuna in Malta. Little tunny is much more common. But not in July. In July you can expect to try your luck for Barracuda using long jerk minnows at dusk and dawn.
