Title: Outriggers,
Post by: Fishmagician on May 21, 2006, 16:58:17 CET
Here in the US of A, we use outriggers a good deal for most of our offshore fishing. I was curious, do you the sport fisherman there use them? They are a great help in getting the trolling spread, spread out. YOu can use various types of clips for the release of the fishing line at the strike. Both clips and roller trollers are used here. Our outriggers here in California are primarily made of fiberglass. On my 26 sportfisherman they're about 18 feet long.

I'm sure one of your Malta sportfisher can give me an answer!

Best regards, and good fishing.

Hi Mike,

Haven't come across anyone selling them directly from any of the Manufacturers like Rupp, Taco or Lee though we are aware of them, I beleive only one boat that I know of has them, and she's a US made Albermarle sportfishers. I guess in theory one could make the fiberglass outriggers and purchase or fabricate the mounts!
