Title: From where to buy herrings bait?
Post by: dbonnic on June 14, 2006, 13:01:28 CET
I am new to the forum so excuse me If don't know how to use the forum well. I used to buy herrings in plastic boxes which I added to my ground bait from Pirotta.? It was very good for inshore fishing.? Now that Pirotta doesn't have I cannot find from where to buy.? Do someone know from where I can buy? Sometimes I used sardines, however the herrings are better. Thanks?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Not being a shore angler myself I'll ask a stupid question! Were the Herrings you used to buy in a plastic box, dried or normal oiled herrings? Coz you might want to try Smart Supermarket or Scotts perhaps and get some herrings in a tin?!

Hi dbonnic
You can get hold of some herring at the fish market in valletta or you can go to a fish monger and ask him if he can get you some.
I use cabansa which is minced sardines in salt water which i used to buy from fishing world in naxxar.

for herrings, sardines and Lacci  try the Koperattiva Sajjieda MXlokk.
