Hi
I got a hold of some lures would they be good for barracuda?
http://www.stormlures.com/products/luresPopUp.cfm?modelName=original_thunderstick&freshorsalt=Fresh&dirname=hard_lures
The lures I got are No 122, 177 and 181
Or would the regular Silver lures that look like small fish need to be used.
I thing that 177 and 181 are great for cudas ;)
A good lure which i suggest for Cudas is either a rapala husky jerk 15cm and halco sorcerer 150 Multicolor
At this time of year I would go for a 9cm from land or a little bit smaller
in my opinion lures for cudas should be big 13cm,14cm and i even troll with 18cm rapalas with good catches.cudas are more attrackted to big clourfull lures .i even caught small cudas say 500grams with an 18cm lure.i think 9cm is too small and even its hooks are too small for the big mouth of a cuda.guys SET A BULL TO CATCH A COW
Exactly! Try big lures to Catch big Cudas ..Not small lures! Ive caught barracuda on an alungi lure (the smallest 1 we have for alungi) and caught bcuda with it
I get more cudas on small lures when others are using bigger lures it depends on the way you work the fish from land,in my opinion.

Ok thanks mate.
Yes tutu I have tackle and this week I got new lures and squid jigs @ incredible prices.Hopefully will post pictures tomorrow.
Why not try www.BassPro.com in Florida, lure prices are stupid compared to ours, & absolutely ludicrous compared to yours! Lures that I would be paying ?8-?10 for over here, I get for $4-$5 from the States, even with import duty they cost me less than half price! :o
Look at the "hardbaits & surf" section for divers & poppers, the trolling section are the soft bodied type & expensive, well not by our standards! but the surf section has a huge range of excellent lures in the $4-$5 range ;)
blueskip
Mine are in that range blueskip. In the range of 3 euros.
I dont think there should be a debate on prices between local and foreign. The best thing about Spitec is you can talk to him and see what he has for really good prices. If you order from abroad you have no communication if the lure is good or not. And as well, the only thing I would order from abroad is a brand Name like Rapala or Yo-Zuri and still, they are not cheap. What the hell when I want a lure I want in there and then, not waiting over a week for it. And if you order from the states it is not going to arrive that fast. And are we forgetting the postage charge???
i have a couple of yo-zuri mag minnows still in boxes, wondered what they were for, good thing i read just about everything on this site, would they be any good from the shore, it says on box 6 to 10lb test line and 40m max casting distance, they are both floating, magnetic - weight moving system. does that mean anything ?
may be a change from pole fishing, only have telescopic rods though, about 5mtrs each.
i found out that anything red will do its the timeing thats hard to get!!!!! (sun r/set)
depends also where you are spinning. a natural lure sometimes is the trick. i use 20mm mono, tornado which is great. in murky places a firetiger kind of lure is also good. redheads are always good. but getting a strike is a combination of factors.
if the fish has ever been pricked, bait fish, size of lure and the movement (diver / shallow / rattle), time of day, wind and sea conditions etc...
I agree with fish-noob,it's very important to have a good fishing line and some days natural lures may be the trick.
