Ma jistax jinqabad tunnag iktar skond regoli tal-EC (1559/2007) restrizjonijiet fuq qbid ta tonn. Tunnag huwa tonn (bluefin tuna) zghir. L'izghar tonn li jista jinqabad fil-mediterranhuwa hu ta 30Kilo/115cm. Izghar min dal-qies irid jinheles lura skond il-ligi tal-EU li awtomaticament taplika ghal-Malta. Welcome to the forum, just so you know:

You are not allowed to catch Tunagg anymore since the introduction of EC 1559/2007 Bluefin Tuna Fishing restriction. Tunagg are juvenile bluefin tuna and as such the minimum size in the Mediterranean is 30kgs/115cm.

If you catch them you must release them. This is an EU law, automatically applicable in Malta. Get caught and you're likely to lose your boat and get heavily fined.

what about tumbrell? i believe the two look quite simillar when juvenille, how can you tell?

jintaraf robby017, tinduna mill wicc u l-halq. it tumbrell andu halqu iktar qisu tawwalli. jek tidhol fis search andek issib kem ritratti tat tumbrell u kemm tat tunnagg u tarfu mbad np. ;)

translation:

robby017 it is recognizable from the mouth and face. the bullet tuna has a longer mouth. if you click on search for bullet tuna/tumbrell you will find plentifull of pics and you will recognize it np then ;)

Isn't tumbrell also a member of the tuna family or am I wrong?

They all are from the tuna family but the law specifically talks about blue fin tuna and tell you the truth hope it stays like that.

Guys, try and stick to Maltese as mdar started the topic in Maltese and it saves the moderators the hassle of adding a translation as well.

Yes tumbrell are Bullet Tuna....most of these are from the tuna family, as are Alungi, but its only Bluefin that are currently regulated.
