Busumark and benri......i think that whoever buys a boat, first books a test drive!  It is the customer who makes the decision to buy a boat and not the manufacturer.  Also nowadays all maltese boats sold here or the EU have to have the CE certification which is not that easy for a boat builder to obtain.....

I have a Scirocco myself, its 14?ft. 20H.P. Mariner. Its good for fishing but as some of you stated its a little low (baxx) especially the motor area. Can something be done to solve this problem. The thing is that when a wave comes from behind some water gets inside.

SHAFTBOMB not everyone goes for a test drive and that is a very bad thing. some buy a boat because they take the manufactures word that it is good or arrange for them to meet someone that has one and he tells the prospective buyer that it is good. also it depends in what sea conditions you do a test drive. than there are those people who know nothing about boats and for them the boat is good but when someone goes with them who has experience with boats can point out the bad things. i know some local cases of this happening if you want i can tell you and than you tell me yes its true. about the CE mark there are some builders that are registering their boats MFC and so they dont need a CE mark. also there is difference between CE mark and CE mark. it depends who does the test. there are some test agencies more professional than others and do more difficult and rigorous tests. so a boat can pass from a not so difficult test and get a CE mark if it does the test in the first place but it wont pass from the test of another testing agency and it wouldnt get a CE mark. so there also  difference between CE mark boats. always ask who is the testing agency who made the CE test and check if its a serious agency

I agree with most of what you said BUSUMARK but keep in mind that most maltese boat builders come from families that have boat building traditions.  In my opinion who can understand maltese sea conditions better than we maltese ourselves?!  Also nowadays the maltese boat building craft has modernized more and the finishing is very close if not better than foreign built boats.  Also be aware that a good proportion of forein built boats are used and tested in rivers or lakes and where water conditions are much different than sea conditions and that's why sometimes of videos you see the driver changing course fast and easily and obtaining sky high mph.
