In my opinion Lineaeffe rods are not as well built as the Olympus ones. Now I know we aren't talking heavy or professional tackle here, but I have rods from both makers, and the Olympus have a much better build quality.

For heaven's sake, my new Lineaeffe 4.2m reel rod is alreaddy falling to pieces... after being used 3 times! (Lm24 cost...)

PS. I am in no way affiliated to Misterfish or Pirotta !! Since this topic sounds like a Pirotta VS Mr. Fish....

What other makes do you guys suggest?

As you know, there aren't really many options in Malta, its Misterfish, Pirotta, or Fishing World at least the main ones. Don't have a Lineaeffe pole rod, have an offshore rod and reel from them and the rod has held up very well. Reel is okay, nothing grand but not bad either.

Not a shore fishing expert so not sure whats best there.

well i bought a Lineaeffe reel rod for 30 lm after 5 or 6 times it started to fall apart and i take care of all my fishing stuff i cleaned it with fresh water every time i used and dried and stored it in a dry room with no humidity> has any 1 tried that new fishing shop near the hospital???
A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at the office

A woman who has never seen her husband fishing, doesn't know what a patient man she married

Take it back Kempy, ask for it to be replaced. If they are interested in repeat business they should either repair it for free or replace it. Aside from fishing I'm into R/C Helicopters and in that forum which is huge, negative publicity towards shops can be very damaging so its in their interest to sort it out.

kempy, you should buy a GRAUVELL marea rod. Very cheap and serves a lifetime.

I seem to have the same problem with rods, they all fall apart after half a year or so, however I do not take care of them much. I have one rod which is still intact since the day I bought it, amazing quality. I'll check what it is and will let you know. Never washed it and have been using it on the boat about 3 or 4 years.

same problem with me.....2 lineaeffe rods fell apart. also have a lineaeffe reel which held up pretty well although now it needs relpacement...im definitley getting a shimano. i have an olympus carbon pole rod ..... amazingly light and well-built and only cost me about lm 18. lineaeffe seem to be quite a low-quality brand. my next rod will probably be a shimano as well. mr fish seem to have quite a number of nice brands like shimano grauvell shakespeare ect .
