Will try to stop[ him next time. What you should do shanook is during the comp go near him and ask him to show you how to tie a hook, how to use a running float etc, don't give him time to fish!Tell us a little bit about the competition fish caught, place where competition took place etc.

kudos to ur fiance {"_"} m8.

on another tone, a comment that i heard today from a member of the forum. Awareness on fish sizes and keeping them alive should be tackled in a different way. If all fishermen would replace the buckets with keep-nets (where possible) it would improve the rate of live fish thrown back in the sea. Why doesn't the fisheries start by giving free keep-nets :) that would be a positive starting point if they insist to start with the recreational fisherman.

Hi Guys, well done everyone! was the competition still held at Zonqor?

Competition wasn't at Zonqor. we met there but as there was a mixed experience level and it was pretty rough it was decided to relocate to a more sheltered place. Was held in Kalkara Creek on the Birgu side though.

From what I heard, it seems that European legislation needs to be clarified. What I did note that when a fish swalled a hook, Mulett75 would simply cut the line and not try and dig the hook out of the fish. Hook disolves or is passed through and less stress is placed on the fish.

fish-noob

yes, i do that if she swallows. more because I haven't gotten round to learning how to use the disgorger properly. unless you are using stainless they will dissolve in a few days / weeks.
