Engine fuse

Guys i am just back from the boat as i went to check if all is ok and to start the engines. As i started the aux engine the starter seemed to work but there was no sign of the engine turning. (not so nice already), gave it a second try and the fuse blows. Any idea of what the cause could be ?

So the starter was turning but the engine wasn't cranking?

And then when you tried again the fuse went? When you crank the starter spins and usually pushes a geared pinion up to crank the engine....I wonder whether you have an issue there which overloaded the circuit and caused the fuse to go.

Otherwise you might have an electrical arc somewhere , trace the wires from the fuse make sure they are not loose on the starter solenoid and look for exposed wires. As I'm not familar with your set up which fuse blew? On the key or near the starter and size of the fuse?

Yepp nick the starter turned but the engine did not crank.

The fuse next to the engine electrical circuit blew. Fuse was a 25A

Check battery voltage -terminal  connections etc
Check to ensure starter is engaging - also check wiring for any loose ,broken etc,
Check flywheel ring gear or starter pinion teeth loose or broken.

assuming that engine can rotate i check out the starter
