Filming in a restricted area creates problems, because one might have a favourite spot where to fish and it might not fall under the area which is being restricted.

why risk to get injured for a 100 euros reel? I asked around about the guy... not of the type to mess with.. and it was secured, he stole it from the boat while I was on the other side securing a belt. one of them hassles you to move quickly from the slipway, the other does the job.

yes clutch kick, i will need 1 of those now. we should meet sometime this week. i still have a rod and a jigging reel, but as i told you the rod is broken. will use the remaining yellow cheap rod in the mean time, they are quite good for their price.

Wow some nice pictures of the competition.............those support vessels are awesome........and that rib, even though i am not a rib enthusiast I still appreciate the sea worthiness of those rubber things....

Well done to all who took part in competition and congratulations to the winning teams.
We had to retire early, due to a fault with my starboard engine, my self and the crew were gutted, but we made it back to Tax'biex safe and sound.

The guy who serviced my engines has been down to check out the SOJ and it turns out the damper on the starboard engine prop had gone, you probably know better than me, that it is some sort of safety device built into all props, if the prop hits something, like a piece of wood or the bottom of the ocean, then the damper shears, to protect the engine drive system. I can confirm that when we took off the prop, there was no damage to it, the prop as far as I am aware has been on there for around 15yrs, perhaps it was an age thing.

So we have ordered a new prop which should be here in a couple of weeks.

Thanks again to Skip and the rest of the guys, for a very well organised, competition.

Remember, you can please some people, some of the time, but you cant please all of the people all of the time.

it was a shame that it had to happen on competition day, but better safe than sorry. better luck for next year mate.........

Gus at least you managed to quickly identify the problem and you won't have too much time away from the water to get the issue resolved. Prop change can be done in the water so less hassles and expenses.

You guys took the right safety decision but returning to port but I can only imagine how disappointed you all must have felt as you were slowly making your way back to the marina. We'll look forward to seeing you take part next year and that gives you the rest of this season to become an Alongi expert
