WOW well done moonwalker..............So I was right it was a scabbard.....and how come it didnt cut the line?
that must have bent the rod a bit eh....we should catch a few and take them to Punch and Judy and make a meal with MFF members.....i am sure that they will start appreciating the taste of, as The_GAFFER calls it 'the ugly son of a bitch'..........

Its a real bastard for sure - we caught 7 in total this one being the bigger but we had many other bites which cut the line immediately.
Still this is not the "thing" which cut the spectra line last time - that was something much bigger!

@shanook - I pass the line through a sleeve so that the fish does not bite the line directly. It does not always work though and must think of something better.
