Hello!, I am a newbie and am trying my hand at trolling.  This is being done always near the shore and in bays or maybe up to 400 mtrs from shore.  Can someone advise on the best speed to use for Trolling (inrejjex)?

Hi Leo,

Welcome to the forum, it very much depends on what you're targeting. In general fish within a port which tend to be a bit smaller, like a much slower trolling speed, say 3-4 knots maximum. It also depends a bit on how much noise and prop wash your engine is generating. The luzzu type boats can troll faster with little or no wake and prop wash behind them, but I think in general 3-4 knots is good and 2-3 if you trolling live baits.

Lampuki are good at 4 knots but like clear water, so the distance you have the lure behind the boat is important. Small Tuna on the other hand like the prop noise and prefer say around 5 knots.
