robby, not neccesary to use running float.... Thanks to the lenght of the rod, it certain places you can fish with a fixed float.... Just like with a pole. Leads vary according to the float you choose. I normally use a 3-4g float and as for lead i use a torpilla lead of 2-3g... Then a couple split shot leads.

exactly as Robby instructed you can use the bolo rod (example 7mtrs) in 5 mtrs depth. Rig exactly the same way you rig a fixed pole rod. That is why you use 7mtr or 8 mtr length of rod. You are fishing right on the float and have no extra length of mono in water. Mullet fishing needs high reflexes ..... you need to be rod tip on float to have the perfect hit!

Thanks...

i was looking at some tubertini models...what's the difference between stiff, medium or light action on the rod?...from what i read if i understood well with light action ones, you can afford using a thinner line diameter? is that right?

Hi Robbby017 may I ask if you use floating line in the reel?

from the way you hold the rod to be able to strike when the float makes a movement, you will notice that it does not make a differance as at most times the line between the tip of the rod and the float does not even touch the water!

sinking line is a must for far away casts .... this will avoid wind carrying float in case of windy days

ty robby in other words you are fishing like pole fishing.

robby017

yes, i fish it like pole fishing...... but as placebo said... if you are going to make long casts you don't want you're line going with the wind!
