Coming to Malta soon, advice please! :D

Hi guys n gals, I'll be coming to stay in Malta soon, will be staying with a friend of mine at L-Imsida, Malta, for a few weeks and then be looking for an apartment or house-share. I'm a spearfisherman and was hoping to support myself doing it while there, as well as maybe getting work as a doorman or fishing boat worker. I will be free diving to start, as I don;t have my own scuba gear, though I do have PADI open water diving qualification. I haven't free dived for 2 years, so its going to take me awhile to get my fitness up again. Will probably have to start diving at only 10m at first, anyone know some good sites at that depth that can be swum to from shore or a short trip in a dingy? Also, does anyone know of anywork I could do to support myself till i get my fitness back? Something on or under the water would be prefered. As well as my PADI, I also have RYA Coastal Captain qualification, and have blue water experience as Captain of a sailboat. Lastly, what are the laws regarding lobster/crab pots there? And will I be able to bring my speargun into the county?

Wow, thats pretty harsh! It's a shame as spearfishing is such a sustainable way to fish. Yea, ofc its the parties I'm coming there for, but need to make a living too, but i guess at least I can freedive for my personal food. Should get back to 20m+ with a little practice.
